JVC HM-DH40000U D-VHS VCR, For Sale [SOLD]

I have a JVC HM-DH40000U with the original box and the remote for sale. (Somewhere along the line I lost the manual, but it's on JVC's website.) I'm not the original owner, but this unit plays VHS and S-VHS tapes just fine. As NJRoadFan and I discussed in another thread, this model actually has a 6MB buffer for its DigiPure circuit.

I never used this VCR for D-VHS recording or playback, and I had gotten it off of Craigslist and the person never commented on this feature either. Before posting, though, I tried recording from my cable box to a D-VHS tape via firewire connection. I can't get it to record and play back HD video smoothly. The video is choppy and pixelated with no audio. So, if you need a DVHS deck, look elsewhere unless you know how to fix this. Cleaning the video heads with alcohol and chamois cloth didn't help.

If you just need a VCR to do VHS or S-VHS capturing, this is a great unit!

I'm asking $220 (what I paid) or I'll consider offers. I qualify for discounted UPS rates because of shipping lots of items for eBay, so I can offer fairly cheap shipping. If you'd like a shipping quote just send me your ZIP code.

FWIW, the DVHS part likely works fine. Cable boxes have notoriously buggy firewire output and such recording problems are quite common. These VCRs were never totally glitch free with playback of even D-Theater tapes too.
