The short story is I had a fire at mu house and my 9911 with about 10 hours of play on it was damaged while getting moved or stored. The top got crushed in and the circuit on top of the drum is damaged. If you have one of these machines that is dead and want to sell just the circuit let me know.

It's probably easier to get a whole new 9911 off eBay.

I've looked and have been checking Craigslist too. I don't see any listed and this one only has about 10 hours of use on it. I know what I have and I'm always leery about buying used electronics especially something like this that has a lot of mechanics involved. I'm hoping maybe someone has one that is mechanically wore out they'd be willing to part out. This part doesn't look like something that is going to go bad so even if it's parts VCR it's unlikely that anyone is going to need this for themsleves.

I don't see any other apparent damage. I've been able to locate the part new but it's $60. I'm going to buy it new unless I can get it used from someone.

I'd also be interested in the cover as mine is dented pretty bad.

this is a stator - i have a whole bunch, but not that one unfortunately

after you replace that the deck may need to be serviced by a pro
that needs to be set properly - it is called switching point adjustment

I don't have one but I can get my hands on one. Might even be able to get a hold of someone that actually knows what they are doing.

Bump!

In addition to the circuit I'd also be interested in the metal covering the top.

Never replaced this and I'm still interested in the circuit board/stator and the metal cover.

If you have the exact pieces or parts machine laying around let me know.

Wow, You haven't found a spare VCR in the last 11 years? What's the brand and exact model number?

Wow indeed. Too bad you didn't just buy another from eBay 11 years ago, during that post-recession lull when you probably could have picked one up in prime condition for under $200, maybe even $100. Now you'll be paying $300 just for a parts deck.

I would check with the service manual to be sure, but most likely they used the same pcb in all the JVC-made models (there are some low end JVC-branded decks made by LG and orion in later years) from the lineup so you can likely get a much cheaper VHS unitrom the same lineup rather than needing another 9911. The ones from a year or two earlier may or may not also be compatible and/or use the same pcb but not sure (the ones that are at least for sure incompatible are 1998 (HR-S_500) and older models as those use different number of pins on the cable, and the last few lineups which used the different mechanism).

If you do find a replacement, be careful with the spring and carbon brush that sits underneath it, they can easily pop out and get lost!

EDIT: This lists some models for QAR0169-001 and QAR0169-002 which may or may not be accurate, and not sure what the difference between QAR0169-001 and QAR0169-002 is either:

Nice find.

Compatible models =
HRDVS3U
HRS2901U
HRS29U
HRS3900U
HRS3901U
HRS3910U
HRS3911U
HRS5900U
HRS5910U
HRS7900U
HRS9911U
SRV10U
SRVS30U

Some of those lower end 29/3900 decks will be cheap (relatively speaking) and easy to locate.

I have one of them. I'll check craiglist etc for those models. That VCR I have is also very low usage but I'll sacrifice it if necessary.
