I'd be skeptical about it being "new" given the images. Seems odd to me.
But still probably fine used, and not a bad price if it has low hours. It was about $300 when new.

"Because it's SVHS, it will also record as good as a DVD recorder"

it even says it was used 5 times - that makes it used not new.
as far as im concerned "new" means it has never even been plugged in.

I know, right? I don't know why sellers bother making untrue claims to begin with, given that eBay has a tendency to side with the buyer in most disputes over the "expectations" of an item. That's just asking to get pulled into a dispute resolution case.
