Lordsmurf,
Could you please respond to me here or in our private message thread? Thank you.

Please let me know the cost of a kit.

Thanks!

(Note: PMs sent to post requests above, at time of those posts.)

Right now, I have a few PAL workflows. :)

The intention is to provider PAL gear to North America users. But I'm not against sending PAL workflows to PAL users in PAL lands. It's getting hard to get quality gear worldwide now, not just USA.

Hi lordsmurf,

I'm worried that my email and PMs haven't been getting through to you or I haven't been receiving your replies. I noticed that a premium workflow with the same description as the one I put a deposit down on is now listed in the August 2022 update. Because you had mentioned it might be your last premium workflow, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any of your messages and you thought the deal was off. Hopefully you see this and we can move forward with our transaction. Thank you!

Strange, I replied to your last email a few days ago. I'll reply again.

No worries, your workflow is reserved. :)

I did a gear buyback, hence the update. Since it was one of my refurb'd workflows, it just needed some maintenance and testing/verification, ready for the next user/owner. I often mention "buy it, use it, resell it. Well, sometimes I'm the one buying it back, depends on factors at the time.

Hey lordsmurf-

I have seen your status post (https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/new...s-updates.html) so I understand delays, but I haven't gotten an email or PM reply in a while.

Could I get an update on the status of my workflow order?

Thanks!

My workflow backlogs are now clear, above members were sent their goodies. :)

And now I have another pair of workflows to close out the year.

Listing updated.
Have a few nice items again.
All gear backlogs clear, or soon to be clear. (PM/email if you need an update.)

Hello, somebody here can explain to me what is a capture card and what it does?
Can it be used to digitalise with other material than VHS ? (ex: U-matic, DVcam, ...)

The capture card digitizes analog video. Cards can with most analog formats, including VHS and U-matic. And yes, it can analog capture digital formats like DVcam.

This is also referred to as "ingest".

A workflow is all of the hardware needed to capture.
That includes
- the player (this is a marketplace listing intended for VHS, hence S-VHS VCRs with line TBC)
- signal processing with a frame TBC (required)
- and the capture card (final hardware link of the workflow chain)

A capture card alone, or just a capture card with a VCR, does not give results. Either no good results, or no results at all. All 3 items are neede for a successful digitize/capture.

I have a few final workflows for a while, including a setup that needs an important note:

** The HR-S9500 currently in my budget workflow has FF/REW braking issues. The workaround here is simple: never FF, and only REW to the beginning of the tape. That should be what you do anyway, not FF/REW needlessly, which puts wear on both the tape and the VCR. The brakes are the only reason this 9500 gets the B+ rating, and the image output is closer to A+. The 9500 is now 30 years old, the oldest of any suggested VCR, so it's really not unexpected. If you choose to ignore this advice, the VCR can unwind excess tape from the FF/REW, and result in an "eaten" tape, though it normally just slacks some within the clamshell (not eaten).
