Notes:

- All of my TBCs are refurb'd, pass clean signals, and often appear new/unused.
- I also have some full workflows available (TBC + S-VHS VCR + USB capture card).
- Price varies on model, and price range for most quality s-video units is $1150 to $2850.
- Yes, the specific Cypress and BV units that I make available here are as good as a DataVideo! I've been asked this in PM many times now. Noting that there are many not-good Cypress/BV out there in the wild.

** VCR and camcorder menus, and blue screens, are non-standard signals, not true NTSC or PAL. This sometimes creates problems for TBCs and capture cards. These specific units will work well for you if either (1) you disable the JVC blue screens, and never enter the JVC menu while capturing, or (2) you use Panasonic S-VHS VCRs, such as the AG-1980P (or AG-1970, or PAL equivalents like NV-HS1000 and FS200). Be aware that not all JVC decks can have the blue screen disabled, so verify in the JVC menus before inquiring. Unknown if these will work with any other VCRs/cameras. Cypress units degraded with the next iteration of units, aka the "black" era (black AVT-8710, and clones), and those not only hated the menus and blue screens, but added excessive ghosting and frame sticking issues. **

For some strange reason, starting in 2022 (and then stopping again in mid 2023), I'd gotten requests for "pictures", as if that tells you anything about these units. While the cosmetics on all my items is excellent, often like-new, it's the performance that matters. No mere photo can show that. You can already use Google to find photos of what many TBC units look like, if you're curious. But also noting many non-identical TBCs (both bad and good) look identical, so it's misleading altogether. In the few instances where images are not readily available, all a photo would tell you is "Wow, a boring box!" It's a waste of my time to take photos, and a waste of yours to view them. So I don't do "pictures". I'm not some Facebook/etc random person.

When you work professionally in a field, you tend to have not just the equipment you need, but backups of everything. And when equipment tends to be scarce, hard to replace or repair, you may have backups of the backups! That's how I was with TBCs. But that studio career is over (some "employees" were contractors, hence owning the gear ourselves), nd I need to get over that "must keep backups of backups" mindset. dFAQ has enough equipment, I have enough personal equipment, the excess can go. That's good news for you. I'll also be letting two AG-1980P decks go in the near future. Same reason, extra backups.

N/A for devices available now.

All TBC-3000s now gone.
8710s and 1000s almost gone.

If you're still waffling on whether you should get one, better make up your mind quick, :wink2:

Could you give me a price on the DataVideo TBC-1000 including shipping to the UK?

I really appreciate your work here, I've just started out and this site has been a fantastic resource! :)

Thanks,
Richard.

lordsmurf 08-16-2018 12:13 AM

I have another pair available. :woot:

Sidegraded my personal DataVideo TBC gear, selling off these excellent extra units.

- TBC-1000 is like new, includes OEM power supply - gone!
- TBC-4000 is very good, replacement PSU available from TGrant

Already had nibbles for both units, didn't think I'd need to even post them in the Marketplace, but no closed deals yet. So still up for grabs. First to PM me wins! :P

Im looking for a TBC, how much for the AVT-8710?

Auggie 11-30-2018 11:06 AM

Any other TBCs for sale? Seems to be the last piece of kit I need (wish I embarked on converting my tapes long ago when this stuff was more readily available).
