Hi guys,
I wonder if someone could help, for around a decade now I've been using Verbatim discs, mostly their DVD+r,I've had no problems but recently I ordered from an Amazon seller a spindle of 10, they were shrink wrapped as usual but my eye was brought to a strange detail I've never ever encountered before.
Please see enclosed pic, around the edge, when held up to the light some parts look like the light illuminates it, what is exactly going on here, I've noticed someone left a review on Amazon saying they weren't sealed and they appeared to be made in India, are they OK to use,I've already tested some and they both burn and playback OK,but in terns of long term storage, will they let moisture in as the Amazon review said or are they OK?
Thanks.

Speculation! Odd coloration at the outside edge of the recording media might indicate non-uniform distribution of the dye and might manifest as poor recording results at the very outside (say last 1% or so) of the disc capacity. It might not show up in tests of discs recorded to less than essentially full capacity.

Thanks, this is actually the physical edges of the discs, not actually on the flat data side, I've noticed little divots, where the light hits the smooth edge suddenly then gets bent creating this illuminated effect, it's definitely the edge not sealed properly, the discs burnt to the full 120 minutes play OK.
