I do not use muriatic in large quantities it is only used for bathroom cleaning for a maximum of 30 minutes but does this make it a dangerous environment? Are you thinking I use it all over the house? please no closed topic

I REALLY want to you understand and accept the hazard of muratic acid fumes.

This is the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for a common muriatic acid cleaner: http://www.kleanstrip.com/uploads/do...58_SDS-905.pdf. The Hazard Category goes to 4. Muriatic acid is at 3 for toxicity though inhalation.

"Corrosive To Metals, Category 1
Acute Toxicity: Inhalation, Category 3
Skin Corrosion/Irritation, Category 1A-1C
Serious Eye Damage/Eye Irritation, Category 1
Specific Target Organ Toxicity (single exposure), Category 3

GHS Hazard Phrases:

H290: May be corrosive to metals.
H314: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
H318: Causes serious eye damage.
H331: Toxic if inhaled.
H335: May cause respiratory irritation.

GHS Precaution Phrases:

P234: Keep only in original container.
P260: Do not breathe fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray.
P264: Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
P271: Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
P280: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection."

There is no [warning that] prolonged exposure may be hazardous. It's HAZARDOUS [ALL THE TIME]!

BTW, this is a 33% concentration, the highest level allowed in the U.S.

I only smoke 30 minutes a day, is that hazardous? Decades of research has PROVEN that ANY smoking, even secondhand is hazardous. YES, YOU'RE IN A HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT!!!! Get yourself and your family out of the room or at least everyone should wear a respirator while the cleaning is going on.

Here at home while using muriatic I do not see smoke or fog, I have no symptoms because I am in the bedroom and muriatic acid is used in the bathroom but I thought it releases invisible steam that if I am operating the discs the moment I the bathroom is clean with the muriatico this steam between dvd-r and mdisc dvd and corrosion metal inner layer

Is 33 or 38% pure hydrochloric acid a lot?

- Steam is water vapor. If not water, it's not steam.
- HCl gives off vapors.
- HCl vapors probably corrode everything.
