I have viewed the reviews here http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm but the information here looks the same as it did when I first registered quite a few years ago. Has there been any reviews of blank DVDs in the past year or two?

Yes, heavily, and in contact with manufacturers, but results are essentially identical. DVD media is a mature format, with just a few manufacturers, and nothing has changed in terms of materials and processes.

- Verbatim/Mitsubishi (made by CMC) is still the best media.
- Taiyo Yuden (made by CMC) is still tied for best.
- CMC's own media is still bottom end.
- Ritek is holding steady at 2nd place, though not by much, and their media is more readily available. If anything changes, it will be that Ritek is suddenly the best media available. Testing is ongoing, and that may happen eventually.

Amazon is still be the best place to get these discs.

(Though now, due to the pandemic, tech-only stores may be your best bet. For example, Newegg or CheckOutStore, maybe MediaSupply. Sadly, places like SupermediaStore and Meritline are no longer in business.)

Would moserbaer also crack the list of DVD makers?
And I agree Amazon is still the best place to buy the DVDs.
But, in these pandemic times, you would only get the stock that was mass-produced just before the pandemic and the best places would be a computer accessories store in your area.

Moser Baer is gone as of 2018: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moser_Baer

Here's a wiki list of disc manufacturers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._manufacturers. Of course being Wikipedia, take it with a grain of salt.

AFAIK, the only remaining manufacturers are in Taiwan.

That list is BS. What a mess. No.

I'm curious. Is it because of outdated info or because some of the "manufacturers" just put their name on other manufacturer's sourced discs.

I know at Videohelp you gave a rundown of remaining disc manufacturers, but I can't find it right now. Could you l give an updated list? Or even better (I know you're busy and it may well be on your ToDo list), update your DVD Media list as everyone on the first tier except Verbatim (AZO) and Taiyo Yuden are gone.

One example: New Cyberian. That's an online store that sells discs, not a manufacturer.

As usual, Wikipedia is just what people think they know, not a vetted source of actual quality information.
