I have burned a video on DVD+R and can see it on my dvd player but not on my mom's dvd player. It only reads DVD-R. I created the video from my laptop and it reads or burns both. Is there any way I can burn differently and on what type of disk for my mom to see it? Help!!! No one has been able to answer this question... she has a Samsung DVD player and burner DVD-R170.
If her player can play a DVD-R, then use one of those. Verbatim DVD-R is the most compatible disc out there.

Not all equipment can play DVD+R media.

Beyond that, the data must be written in a compliant DVD-Video format. Whether your DVD-Video material is 100% to the specification really depends on the software being used. Some low-cost consumer software does not 100% properly create DVDs, leaving some players unable to read the DVD.
