I wonder if this is the dye based used for "Advanced AZO" media, such as the 8x and 16x DVD-R and DVD+R, as well as at least one layer in the DVD+R DL blank media. Possibly even for CD-R media, based on the absorption values, although I would think it odd that a single dye (or dye base) could be used for both CD and DVD recordables. The figures clearly show (at minimum) a single- and a double-layer disc.

OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM, METAL COMPLEX COMPOUND AND ORGANIC DYE COMPOUND
An optical recording medium having a recording layer of improved light stability, capable of recording and regeneration of high-density optical information by short-wavelength laser beam. The recording layer contains a pyridone azo organic dye having a 6-hydroxy-2-pyridone structure as a coupler component and an isoxazole, 1,2,4-triazole or pyrazole as a diazo component, coordinated to a metal, such as nickel, cobalt, iron, zinc, copper or manganese.
Manufacturers may not be quite as forthcoming about DVD dye technology as some of us would like. But at the same time, they'll likely patent anything they make, meaning it's information we can search for.

The full patent application is attached.
