Can anyone tell me which would be the Best Brand, out of the Following Litescribe Discs listed below:
  • Optimum Lightscribe DVD-R 16X 4.7GB Branded Gold Surface
  • Microboards Lightscribe DVD-R 16X 4.7GB Blank Media Discs
  • Optical Quantum 16X DVD-R 4.7GB/ 120Min Lightscribe Disc
  • HP 16X 4.7GB/ 120Min Lightscribe DVD-R
  • Philips Lightscribe DVD-R 16X 4.7GB Version 1.2 Blank Media Discs
  • Optical Quantum Color 16X DVD-R 4.7Gb/ 120Min Lightscribe Disc
Honestly, those are all pretty much the same discs -- MBI or CMC.

I don't really know what the Microboards media ID is. Microboards is the official importer of Taiyo Yuden in the united states, but I don't believe TY has any LS media, so it's likely one of the typical off-brand suppliers like Ritek, CMC or MBI.

I don't know that Ritek has LS discs either. It may all be MBI, CMC and MCC.

I've come here on some good advice and was looking to the more knowledgable people, on what are "Good Brands" of Litescribe Blank DVD Media? Also being new to Litescribe, I've seen places that sell "Gold Top" and "Silver Top".
Does it make a difference in the outcome of the quality of that Print on the Label?
There's really only on reliable brand of LS media: Verbatim.

Although for CD-R, read this recent related post: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/medi...batim-azo.html
The info still applies to DVD-R and DVD+R LS media.

Do be sure to read the blank media review/FAQ: http://www.digitalFAQ.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm
And then in terms of where to buy, see this: http://www.digitalFAQ.com/reviews/buy-blank-discs.htm

I'd buy from here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...reative=390957

As far as "gold top" vs "silver top" (and even colored tops), it's just coloring on the LS material. It does not affect quality or longevity in any way. It's simply decorative.

Hope that helps you out.
