Alternative to ImgBurn for burning data?
I need to back up data to several DVD-R's and have been having a miserable time with this program.
Verbatim blanks a (supposedly) good Pioneer burner haven't helped. Is there a decent free program I could try before going out and buying a new burner and software? Thank you. |

There's a good guide for "alternative burning software" here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/comp...ero-roxio.html
ImgBurn is generally regarded as best for DVD-Video, but not necessarily data. I prefer Nero (payware) or CDBurnerXP (freeware). You should also remember to burn the discs at 8x or 12x -- not 16x or faster -- for the best results. Assuming these are 16x DVD-R/DVD+R. Never burn a disc "too fast" or "too slow", but rather "just right". Just like the Three Bears story. Read through the media guides, too: Blank Media Guides @ http://www.digitalFAQ.com/guides/blank-media.htm |
Thanks for info. I downloaded CDBurnerXP and will try it asap (i've been sick as a dog.)
Also, someone suggested burning in safe mode. Thanks again. |
