If our expert lord(smurf) in-house did not give you enough answers in your other thread, maybe only the good Lord above knows :)

I'm awaiting a response from the lord (smurf)

Note: Some of this thread overlaps with this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/medi...urability.html

1. Hmmm.... interesting. I've never seen CMC made in Singapore. Are you sure? To my knowledge, only MCC (Mitsubishi Verbatim) -- not CMC -- is made in Singapore.

2. It's changed several times. At one point it was azoic inorganics (azo), and at another it was just custom inorganics. CMC has good reflectivity, and the dye can actually be decent, but the pressing process is really crappy. That's how it gets that 50/50 mixed bag of quality. You'll generally get a bunch of coasters.

3. See answer on other thread.

1 cover my Philips DVD + R CMC MAG M01 Philips Singapore has written and has a code: DR4SS0IF/97 but I did not find this code in the website has also written philips DVD + R version 1.3 and the cover has a picture of the disc does not have manufacturing date and country where it was manufactured, and I wanted to know

2 as I find out what the dye from my philips cmc mag m01? the dye philips cmc mag m01 is azo inorganic?

3 durability of a dvd starts from the time the disc is manufactured or from the moment that burns data in it?

4 need to know if my hard this philips cmc mag m01 has the minimum quality to save my data for at least four years

1. I doubt that's the media ID. It looks like a bar code or a SKU part number.
2. No idea. This type of info is hard to come by.
3. This was already answered. The answer is "burned".
4. Maybe. The initial burn is the issue, not how long it will last once burned.

1 I contacted the CMC and they said that the medias DVD CMC use AZO dye

CMC also manufactures medias for Verbatim DVD

2 I still do not quite understand this question, the durability and longevity of a DVD media begins to be calculated after the DVD is being made or after the DVD was being burned?

3 CMC also said that my Philips media CMC MAG-M01-00 was manufactured in Taiwan

4 What is the best and most durable dye there is?

5 How many types and variations of AZO dye there?

kpmedia 09-11-2013 08:53 AM

1. The dye type likely is AZO, yes, just CMC doesn't have good QC and makes bad media,
2. Durability = you mean longevity. That starts at burn time, unless the blank is like 20 years old.
3. "Philips" is just a brand name. CMC is the manufacturer.
4. The best "dye" doesn't matter as much as the manufacturer using it. AZO is good, but so are non-AZO organics and inorganics.
5. Several. For example, even within Mitsubishi, it changes with time, and across the media type (CD, DVD, Blu-ray)

I think you're over-thinking this some. Learning is good, yes, but at some point you have to start learning chemisty and going through patent documents to learn about the media. (Which I've done, and is NOT that fun.)
