Why do you need to update it?
The general rule is: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

For what operating system? There are no new drivers for that burner for Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
If you don't know whether or not there is a firmware update, why did you think there are new features? Besides, you have identified the current firmware version as "OEM". You should check with the support site for the maker of your computer, who would post any new drivers specifically for your PC and operating system if they exist. Firmware drivers for OEM editions of hardware often require a BIOS update as well.

Read post #4 again concerning Windows 8. Firmware for that burner has not been updated since 2006, long before Windows 8 appeared.
