I've had a batch of DVD-R that do not burn - error code that the burn was not successful. Are there programs to allow testing of DVD quality before trying to burn?

No. DVD have to be burned or pressed to be tested.

If none of them burn, it could be an indication of the DVD burned dying. Or possibly a compatibility issue.

What is the media ID and brand of the disc. (Give both.)

The discs were Verbatim. After a lot of trying, I reduced the burn speed to 4x and have no further problems. Thanks for getting back to me.

I still would like to know the media.
Verbatim brand now uses some low-end CMC junk, and not just the quality Mitsubishi discs from their parent company.

Anything on the packaging, such as a part number or where they were made?

Can you check the Manufacturer ID on the discs? DVD Identifier or Nero Media Info are a couple free tools that can give that information.

I have some Verbatim DataLifePlusDVD+R DL, P/N 98319, that are labeled as "made in United Arab Emirates" with a MKM003 media ID.
