We've already been over this. I'm not doing it again. My answer is unchanged from your past posts.

samus87 01-08-2016 11:54 AM

the price of TY disc is higher than the price of any other DVD disc from another brand, so I asked about the durability and resistance of DVDR TY

the Mdisc has a higher price than the TY

it is true that the dvd-r JVC Taiyo Yuden has a life span of 100 years?

No one knows for sure. DVD media has not been around for 100 years.

Life estimates are based on accelerated aging tests involving cycles of heat and humidity, statistics, and material science assumptions about how these factors effect media life. Other factors include handling, manufacturing variances and tolerances, and other physical stresses. Add to this advertising hype.

Genuine TY has an excellent reputation for CD and DVD media. M-DISC is relatively new and most burners cannot write to the media. Also, it is more expensive and has lower burn speed ratings.. However, the few published tests of M-DISC do read good.

Since media is generally much lower cost than other production elements, you could burn a copy of important stuff on both media types for your archive as touch of insurance.

In any case, handle and store you media properly for longest live.

And, if you can still find a reader for the media, you will have an answer in 100 years or so.

JVC TY DVD disc stored the humidity 35 ~ 64% and temperature of 30 ~ 36 degrees will have an estimated useful life of how many years?

dpalomaki 01-13-2016 06:54 AM

But too many variables to make a solid prediction, the biggest of which is how you handle them.
Consider anything beyond 30 years good fortune and anything under 10 years a disappointment.

Visit http://www.osta.org/technology/dvdqa/dvdqa11.htm.

And read some of the other pages from the left side bar links.

Since this is an international following, be sure to specify units (C or F) used with temperatures.

at my house the temperature is 30 C ° ~ 36 C ° and humidity 35% ~ 64% without rain, a DVD + R 16x Philips (CMC MAG M01) and DVD-R JVC Taiyo Yuden will have an estimated durability of years in these conditions ?

dpalomaki 01-13-2016 08:30 AM

Did you read the links I referenced?
Cannot be predicted with any certainty.

If you want a number from someone else of whom you do not know the credentials, for planning purposes, and assuming no abuse beyond time, temperature and humidity, at those temperatures perhaps a range of 12 to 40 years. However, individual pieces and batches of media could do better, or worse, before excessive read errors develop.

I read the links yes
the link says that the DVD-R disc has a 30 year life but the temperature has to be 22 C ° and the humidity below 50%, but my storage conditions are completely different temperature is 30 C ° ~ 36 C ° and humidity 35% ~ 64% without rain and my discs are DVD + R 16x Philips (CMC MAG M01) and DVD-R JVC Taiyo Yuden therefore asks how many years of life that Philips and JVC that have these conditions
that my conditions dvd philips and dvd JVC and how many years of useful life?

Then you have essentially the same information I have.

Do you want someone to say the TY will last 24 years 4 months and 12 days while the Philips will llast only 23 years, 3 months, and 11 days? If they said that, would you believe them?

I do not know anything accurate but just want to know your opinion and knowledge of useful life expectancy of these my dvds philips CMC mag m01 and JVC in the conditions that we store as I have quoted before

lordsmurf 01-13-2016 06:09 PM

Given your location (Brazil), my educated guess is 20 years, on average, for the TY discs.
CMC is probably less than half that.

OSTA has some flaws in their methodology, so I wouldn't follow it too exactingly. Some of their info was distorted from reality.

samus87 01-13-2016 06:20 PM

I contacted email the CMC and they said the DVD + R 16x Philips (CMC MAG M01) has a useful life expectancy of 30-50 years at temperature 25 C ° below 50% moisture, true or false?? I trust you guys forum, in my condition temperature is 30 ° C ~ 36 ° C and humidity 35% ~ 64% without rain which the opinion of you life of disc?

They're obviously biased, and not independent. Of course they'll bloat their numbers, and claim to best best ever. You basically wasted your time even emailing them. 15 years of forum user net-wide can't be wrong, and CMC is right, when it comes to their media being awful garbage.

what the CMC said it's all lies? dvd + r phillips CMC mag m01 does not have a life expectancy useful between 30 ~ 50 years?

dpalomaki 01-13-2016 08:02 PM

I would not say out and out lies, just under very specific and optimal controlled conditions. But at your temperatures perhaps half their claimed life if otherwise carefully handled, likely less allowing for normal usage.

samus87 01-14-2016 06:00 AM

I wonder if the CMC Magnetics is a liar company to talk to DVD + R Phillips manufactured by CMC has a useful life expectancy of 30 ~ 50 years at 25 ° C and humidity below 50%
