1 within the nero DiscSpeed which procedure to the detection test of any error caused by light?

2 I have many DVDs and many CDs of the same brand (Philips, Smartbuy) same speed (16x, 52x) and bought in the same place, everyone is stored in the same place to make a verification test of any error in them caused by light I have to take the test for all discs or I can take the test for 1 DVD disc and for 1 CD disc because all discs are equal? if I do with all discs would take too long is scratch risk, this test will serve as a parameter for all other disks?

Nero would not likely differentiate errors caused by light, from errors caused by heat, or humidity, or scratches, or bad burner, or bad media lot, or just plain old aging. But it probably doesn't matter - errors are errors regardless of cause.

Testing a few disks will give you some hints as to what other, essentially identical, discs may be doing. But it is not a guarantee. The more discs you test the better your assurance is, the rules of statistics apply. Testing every disk is the only way to be 100% sure.

When I burned the disc for the first time I tested with Nero DiscSpeed and none of the disks has errors, many smartbuy cds 52x and many dvds philips 16x all stored in the same place, I do the test with only 1 cdr smartbuy and 1 dvdr philips It does not serve to have a parameter that all other identical disks also have or not errors caused by light? It does not serve these test for other discs?

I test a DVD disc and a CD equal to others who are stored same place with them the test will not be 100% effective in whether all optical drives are good or bad? I have 20 DVD + R 16x Philips and 20 CDR 52x smart buy identical?

lordsmurf 04-24-2016 09:41 PM

Which test was run?
In what exact brand/model drive?

Understand that testing accuracy varies highly on the drive, and is a "right now" test only. The results change over time. The tell-tale signs are found with more advanced tests, such as jitter. That is almost art as much as science, and takes knowledge of optical media to decipher.

the drive of DVDs that I burned the discs is different from my current drive
When I burned the discs I did a scan disk analysis with Nero DiscSpeed and all disks were 100% good, I kept all DVD and CD in an open room and ventilated but this room comes indirect sunlight and discs CDs are stored in paper cases and DVDs in slim black case behind and transparent in front but in slimcase edges is transparent and indirect sunlight and fluorescent lamp light will enter these edge slimcase? all cds identical e all dvds identical

lordsmurf 04-26-2016 01:01 AM

Put them in a box. Problem solved. No light.

gamemaniaco 04-26-2016 06:18 AM

I believe that this time (6 years) that the disk was stored receiving indirect sunlight and a few hours of light from the fluorescent lamp is enough to have damaged and changed the dye or not?

help me make a advanced complete test on cd and dvd to see if the disc contains any errors? check until jitter errors

I'll test my CD and DVD to find out if they have an error? which software is the best scan showing any error including jitter?

One other protection against light-damage could be mold or fungus. If that grows around the edge, thick enough, then light isn't going to penetrate. In fact, molds and fungus will grow TO the light because they use moisture and light as their main growth factors.
If you could get mold onto your disks, then light damage would be reduced.

lordsmurf edit: No, not doing that here on this site. That's an inside joke run amuck, and has turned several other sites into trollish posts with non-helpful banter.

the basic test Nero DiscSpeed analize disc find any error in CD and DVD? also meets the jitter errors? I think I will try all my discs even they being equal (same brand and same speed) because you guys said I test only one disc each brand not serve as parameter to know if the other identical disks are good

lordsmurf 05-06-2016 05:39 PM

Jitter needs a specific drive. There's also PIE/PIF to measure.
You can sample several discs from the same spindle to get an average, yes.

gamemaniaco 05-06-2016 05:47 PM

my actual drive is samsung sh-222bb

lordsmurf 05-06-2016 06:44 PM

That drive can't test for jitter, PIF, PIE, or anything else advanced.

gamemaniaco 05-06-2016 07:06 PM

this drive is bad for tests quality disc?

checking for jitter and other errors depends on the drive and does not depend on software? what is the best drive brand to scan any jitter error?
