Hi,
I really need someone's help. I have had problems with the last few batches of blank dvds I have bought. I either buy Sony or Fuji, so it is not cheap media. My problem is my burner won't write to these. I assumed that I needed a fimrware upgrade. Yes I did I had 1.1 and the upgrades were up to 2.2. OK downloaded the firmware, shut down all programs that were running and everytime I tried to open the program it says" Available target not found". So what am I doing wrong? Am I missing something? Any and all help would be greatly appriciated.

Any number of possible problems.

We'll start here:
- Does Windows see the drive and give it a drive letter?
- If so, can the drive be used to read CDs and/or DVDs?

Alright, so burning is the only problem.

Nero 6. I have a few older dvds that I have just burned, it's the newer discs that I am having problems with. In fact I just got a pack of 16X discs, my burner is an 8X, and it won't go past 4X. After about 30 seconds the burn process fails.
