Hi to all
its my first post on the forum.

I used to use TDK DVD-R but now read they have stopped making Dvd's and locally I cant get any here in the Uk. The other brands we get are Philips, Maxell, Verbatim and one called Aone. I was going to go with Verbatim but my father inlaw had a 50pk batch and when burned they failed to read as they has little black spots appear on the dye part so this has put me of Verbatim. I have used Maxell in the past but wanted to get others opinions.

any ideas/advice would be welcome.

Thanks
jjvideofan12.

The Verbatim is easily best.

I would have to hear from about your father-in-law. He may have bought fake Verbatim, be referring to old CMC discs, or new 'Life Series' (not quality Verbatim/MCC media). Maybe even his storage is at fault.

Maxell is terrible. It's just a brand for CMC, and true Maxell media hasn't existed for a decade now.

Philips is also CMC, same junk.

A no-name like Aone may use Umedisc from China. In the past, they used fake TY media. Avoid brands like that!

Again, see this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm
