I have been looking into lightscribe because I really like designs you can put onto the discs.

I am thhinking about using this more of a special occasion thing for when I do VHS conversions for people of thier home movies, it would be a nice option to add and I am really dissatisfied with the quality of my epson printer.

Just looking for experience withe the lightscribe portion of the drive.

I like my lightscribe. Just dont like the price of Lightscribe blanks.

I think I ve used it twice for that very reason lol

The Cdrs are cheaper. The Dvds are as high as DL discs .

Liteon DVDRw does lightscribe. Which you can pick one up for 34.00 at
www.directron.com

Also go to lightscribe.com for the updates

How long does it take to put the image(s) onto the label side?

what software do you use to label? Did yours come with software?

I have an old pos pc. It takes me 20 minutes on standard setting.

You can use any label software to create your image. Save as pcd >

Import it to lightscribe software to print the image. Or nero 's version of lightscribe software.Which comes bundled with liteon burners .
I hate nero. So I just use lightscribe products
But you can use Any software that lightscribe is included will work.

It makes neat labels. Just so dang exspensive for blanks.

CP32, which DVD drive do you have?

I am looking at either a Samsung, or Liteon...do you have either one of those?

I have one on my LG drive in my laptop, and I doubt I'll ever use it. The Lightscribe feature often takes an hour on the good setting, and it's still not all that impressive. I think I get more impressed when I see good handwriting using a sharpie marker (and there are quite a few on this site!).

Well, this is not something that I will use regularly. I am considering as an additional feature when I do video conversions for people. One of those "extras" I can include if they wish to pay for it.

I have an Epson DVD printer, but I am unhappy with the results most of the time and although I can get a Cannon DVD capable printer from overseas that's a lot of expense especially if it gives less than stellar results.
