I'm trying to find pin-out information for a Betacam Dub/Component output. (see picture attached)

I was in the video production business from 1977 to 2003. I have a basement full of old masters, many on Betacam. I also have an old BVW-10 player that unbelievably still works! (It's at least 35 years old and has been stored in a basement for at least 24 years.)

I'd like to transfer some of my old tapes to digital and have ordered a capture device. I can use the composite signal but the device also captures component video, which would be much higher quality. I downloaded the BVW-75 service manual you guys have posted but, unfortunately, it doesn't show which signal is available from each of the 12 pins.

I know it's a long-shot, but maybe someone has that information or can point me in the right direction. It would also be nice to find a technician who could butcher a 12-pin cable and rig a breakout box.

Doesn't this model also have component out on BNC connectors (you can use BNC->RCA adapters if the capture device uses that)?

For the best quality get a player with SDI digital out, then all what you need is to transfer to PC using a SDI PCIe card (around $10), The capture is done inside the player, you will be just transferring the SDI data to computer, Whatever capture card you'll buy is not going to be even close to the ADC's built in those pro players.

For instance the J3-SDI from Sony have digital SDI output and can playback all 5 SD digital/analog Betacam formats in both large and small cassettes and can be had for less than $100 used and it's the size of a consumer VCR.

Ditto. Every Beta deck I've seen with a dub jack also has YPbPr out on BNCs. Just get some adapters. I have even seen 3/4" decks with Y/C out on BNCs (literally separated video!)

Yes pro gear run the same signal on different connectors, this may seem off standard for consumer market but for the pros it's convenience especially when retrofitting or upgrading to new gear, the last thing a studio engineer/technician would worry about is re wiring the racks, it takes a lot of work.
