I would really appreciate advice how to transfer the analogue tapes from my Sony CCD-TR50E ( circa 1991 ) to my iMac.
Currently I can connect my TR50E hi8 recorder to my Sony DCR-TRV33E recorder which in turn is connected to my 2009 iMac. I can save the video without any problem via iMovie onto the iMac. However I cannot get the audio to transfer. As the TR50E hi 8 has only 1 video and 1 audio output I have bought an audio splitter but this unfortunately does not help.
any advice would be greatfully received.
Thank you,
John

Does the sound work when connected to a TV?

(Note for anyone else reading: the CCD-TR50E has regular RCA jacks, so the problem isn't an incorrect 3.5mm adapter cable.)
