Major scheduled downtime for The Digital FAQ forum

We will be moving our server within the next 10 days.

How long? The forum will be down for up to 48 hours during this window. We're locking it down until all issues are resolved. The main site itself should be back within 6-12 hours. You'll get a closure notice trying to access the forum, followed by no site at all, follow by the closure message again.

Why so long? There's a lot of data to move, with much of it requiring special conversion to retain 100% of our articles, posts, threads, emails, stats and other such data. I'd rather take longer at the front end, than have to keep shutting the site down to fix errors along the way. I want it completed, and perfectly, all in one go.

When will it be back up? When I update this post, we'll be 100% back online. Until that time, you may see a "forum closed" type of message, or even no site at all (timeouts, nothing will load for you).

Why move? Upgrades. This will allow us to launch the new main site at the end of October, finally. :)

Thanks, -KP

Server upgrade/migration is complete. :)

Hopefully there are no outstanding issues, but it's always hard to tell with complicated moves. Please report any oddities or failures that you experience on the forum or main site -- I'm not 100% positive that all of the permissions and mail connections were restored.

Thanks.
