Notes

Who can use this: All members -- Free, Premium, and Site Staff -- are all able to post attachments to threads, as needed.

ISP requirements: In order to upload 99mb, the new max size allowed, you must have a 1.5mbit minimum upload speed from your ISP. The server has a 10-minute cutoff for attaching files.

Images: All JPEG/GIF/PNG images will be resized on upload, to 890 pixels max width (and/or 2000 max pixels tall), so you may need to stick photographs, DVD case artwork or DVD menu samples inside of archive files!

More formats: More file formats will be added, as needed. Feel free to suggest formats by replying to this thread, if you feel something is missing. However, the current list should cover most anything that needs to be uploaded on our forum.

Archive file warning: Note that all uploaded archive formats will be scrutinized by automatic server anti-malware software, which actively scans new uploads. Site Staff will also manually scrutinize archive uploads. Malicious/worthless files will be deleted, and the user banned. Don't waste your time or ours with crap/spam uploads. Junk will be removed almost immediately.

Thanks to some forum upgrades from October 2010 to March 2011, I've expanded some of these permissions to 32MB, for certain file types (RAR, ZIP, MPEG, AVI, etc). If you discover that a file type limit is too low (less than 32MB), and you want to attach that kind of file, please reply to this post. I'll adjust the parameters.

For site performance reasons, 32mb will be our max size for now.

This has been updated again.

No longer must we split up video files! Most attachments now have a 99mb limit. That should be plenty for uploading sample files, including larger uncompressed AVI and WAV sample files.

The only caveat is that you must have a 1.5mb minimum upload from your ISP. Slower connections will max out too early, and the upload will fail. For example, a 768mb max upload speed will limit you to 50mb max files. The home connection for some site staff is like this, so it's a feature that is mostly for our members. You wanted it, now you got it!

Is this limit per files (within post) or per post?...example: can I upload four 50mb files per post?
