Is forum posting, and sending PMs, going slow for you?

It is for me -- but I'm not sure if it's just me or not. I
If others are experience this, then we need to see what wrong with the server or the site database.

Please let me know.

Very slow for the past few weeks.

[ADD] It tooks 14 seconds for the above line to post. More content seems to take 5 to 10 seconds longer.

[ADD2] But an edit seems to show instantly.

It seems the actual posting is instant. The queue is immediately notified of a new post. Yet the page loads and loads and loads and loads. I've not yet ruled out a database error, but it's looking to be more of a page load error. These things take time, but I'm determined to get this fixed ASAP. It's annoying.

It's only affecting 2 of 3 forums on the server. So it's not the server.

And then I'm loading backups, one by one, onto a dev server to see if/when it returns to normal load speeds. I can go back months or even years, if needed.

Adding to what I noted earlier: a few minutes ago I created a new reply post. The Post Preview shows up almost immediately. But it took 22 seconds for a 3-paragraph post to show up as a post.

My goodness.

Hello,
I don't think so. I also experienced that post preview is fast while creating this post.
It might be happening due to some disturbance in internet connection.

Just as an update, we know what it's not.

When you make the reply, it's there immediately.
- others can see it
- Site Staff get queue alerts
- and even you can see it, if you load a new tab and look at the forum

It's the post-post (after-posting) page refresh that's getting hung up. The new-tab trick is what I've been doing recently, to post in the forum quickly again.

The archive forum doesn't have this issue. So we have something to compare against.

It will get fixed.

I don't know if it is on the same server, but I found this lag to also occur when sending private messages.
