Just wanted to point out an auction with older version (green) AVT-8710 TBC's for sale. I contacted the seller and confirmed that yes, all units he has are the green ones (before the chipset defects). I ordered one and will update on if it's a good unit or not when it arrives.
Thought this may be of interest since the old ones are harder to find typically.

Update -
Received my green AVT-8710 unit today. Seems to be legit new-old-stock and properly functioning. It arrived in what looks to be original packaging, wrapped in plastic and apparently not opened previously. Guessing from the serial number "200507250031", I'm wondering if it was unit #31 produced on July 25, 2005?
I tested it with the on-screen menus from my JVC SR-V10U, and the picture was clear without issues. Playback of a tape seemed fine, although I admittedly don't have any tapes in my project pile that have particularly bad vertical jitter.
Photos are attached... looks to be different chips than the example in the "Is my new AVT-8710 DOA?" thread. The 2 parallel chips are "KOL" (maybe "KCL?") instead of Averlogic. There are two Phillips chips in place of the Trident chips in the DOA thread example; also, the large chip on mine says LTB-100 V2.0 while the DOA thread example has Chinese(?) characters and V2.2.
So... looks like this seller's units are legit. As of now he has 7 of them left, if anyone could use one.
