Wireless devices not accessing OpenDNS?
I switched to Open DNS as KP Media suggested- phenomenal speed jump 5 mps to 30 on charter!
But smart phones, pads and TV will not hook up. Connection is there, but no internet, what am I missing? Thanks, |
Computers are wireless devices generally use a default of whatever the router has set. You can easily change a computer to use a different DNS, but wireless devices (smart phones, iPads, video games, etc) generally have the option blocked. You can often do it on hacked/jailbroken devices, but many of us don't want to do that.
Simple fix: Change the router and/or modem. :) Then all communication is forced through OpenDNS. |
Thanks,
I did switch Cisco linksys EA3500 wireless to open DNS, using first 3 addresses. Modem is Charter provide Cisco dpc3010. Laptops accepted these but smart items see connection but don't link up. When I switch back to old connection, all connect back a slow speed. Do you have a router to recommend? |
