On many VHS recordings I have from years ago, there's this thing that is blocking the top left corner I can't describe it, here's an image of one of them

I know I can't really do much about that but what is that, why is it there and why is it blocking the top left corner of the screen?

Also, regarding the head-switching noise at the bottom. Does the image absolutely end right above it or is that blurring what could be extra image?

It's just overscan noise. You should just mask (not crop!) the overscan with black. Remove noise on sides, top, and the head-switching tape noise at bottom.

I've seen that myself, and mostly on Disney channel as well. Lots of my early 2000s S-VHS recordings have it.

I'm a cartoon collectors, toy/80s/90s commercial collector, sometimes TV show collector. What do you have?

Disney Channel, ABC Kids, syndication stuff from Fox and ABC...all from the early to late 00's.

(1) you need a better VCR, as mentioned in your other ongoing thread
(2) we need to talk shows sometime!
