Comes from a nature photographer I know, wanted to share the Q&A here at the site. No reason to waste good FAQ's in emails, hide answers.

A good question to which I do no have an immediate answer!
If anybody out there has input .... please reply.
In the meantime, I'll be researching this topic, as I'd like to know the answer, too.
What I can say is that using a power inverter, draining from the car battery, has always worked in a pinch. I'd recharged SLR batteries, and even used laptops, many times with that method. I just need to be sure to to drain it too much, or at very least run the car and drive it around some so the alternator kicks in and re-juices the battery.
Amazon has several portable power sources:

Duracell has one, as do several other brands. The Duracell lasts for ~4 hours with a 600W peak rating.
Will have to ask more next time we speak/write, and the relay it into this post.
(I just can't get him to post here. Yeah, that means you, buddy!)
