i hooked up a reciever to my stuff and it was gone.
it worked for me, try it that way if u can.

If your going to get a HD big screen, dont goto wal-mart..Get a mitsubushi, its worth the money, thats what i have. 48 in. widescreen. Hitachi are good also..It just depends on what u want to spend...

I'm assuming you can access the hard drive once its plugged into it

I have the dual dish reciever from dish network. 100 hrs of recording and record 2 things at once..Its pretty cool!
