I'm playing around with recording...

Now, strictly speaking I don't need that connector but I reeeaaaally...

Hi, thanks for the reply. Turns out part of the tape was recorded with 12bit audio and the rest with 16bit and WinDV used 12bit for the whole thing. Captured it in two segments which had proper audio...

Audio speed and noise in Handbrake AVI to MP4 conversion?

I captured a MiniDV tape with WinDV in Type-1 and I'm trying to convert it to Mp4 since it's an easier file to handle by modern computers and software (not that I plan on doing any editing, just want...

Looks good, having it in a different category makes sense since it's not a video input, but rather a function and grouping it together with the A to D conversion makes sense as they're both special...

I actually posted that before looking at how the spreadsheet was formatted. I'm not sure it'll work with your formatting so I think you should stick to the way you proposed it with VTR Capable on a...

Now that you mention it, I think you're right. I think most people will choose to record in Hi8, maybe you should get rid of the standard 8 SP as well?

I think it'll be fine that way, group...

This looks good, maybe have VTR Capable in parentheses next to the header, like this:

Video-In Connections (VTR Capable)
Digital Video (DV) - aka Firewire or Sony i.Link
S-Video (Y/C) Analog

I'm part of the recording crowd, but I have to agree with latreche that if the device has good playback it usually has good recording. When it comes to VCRs the only thing that I look for is an...

I'm aware of software recommendations. I've never been able to get VDub to work on Windows 10 and with this device and I'm perfectly happy with TME as far as quality and ease of use goes. Unless VDub...

Hello,

I've come across an old VHS tape with home video shot in SECAM, I'm pretty sure it's SECAM L since it's from my uncle who lives in France. To watch it I've acquired a Samsung VCR, which is...
