I want to digitalize some VHS Only Movies.
Some are protected by Macrovision. Its PAL/German Tapes.

I want to go for a nice VCR like the Panasonic AG-8700
and a nice AD like the Decklink Studio 4k.

What i need is a TBC that removes/ignores Macrovision, outputs a stable video
for the AD Converter and is Rackmountable. Because i would like to put all the Stuff in a rack.

I think about getting the Datavideo TBC-4000 because it seems to be basically an upscaled
version of the TBC-1000 which would work as far as i know.

But maybe any other suggestions?

Rackmount? For VHS, none of them.

... with few exceptions:

- TBC-3000/4000 actually are not rackmount, but have the adapters for it.
- CDM-830, but only older non-flawed 2000s units, not bad 2010s Cypress chipsets.
- I.Den IVT-7, but it needs the fan re-wired inert, and is a PITA to calibrate; many are so worn that the unit is a boat anchor

The 3000/4000 is TBC-1000 with dual/quad and proc amp. There are both good and not-so-good versions of both, as there were several production generations. Each generation got better.

All of these are hard to find now.

(Note that there was a really shady/scammy guy from Netherlands that was selling TBC-3000/4000 earlier this year. If you see units from Netherlands, and he refuses to accept anything other than wired funds, it him. He wasn't even a good scammer, and insisted on sending him via IBAN, and USA doesn't do IBAN. Several members here were aware of him, all avoided him do to attitude and BS. One member here lives fairly close, bought one, and received it, but that's the only successful report. Just be wary, since you're in Europe as well. For a person to have than many DataVideos like that, and in Europe, was really odd.)
For SD (VHS, etc) analog video, the Decklink Studio 4k is not great. There are better USB cards for SD video.

- For sale in the marketplace: TBCs, workflows, capture cards, VCRs
