Hello,
I have a video cassette which is unfortunately problematic. Namely, there is a problem with rewinding - I actually failed to do it. I tried two VCRs and both have the same problem - the devices do not have the strength to rewind it. I will add that I copied several hundred carriers and so far I have not come across such a resistant cassette.

I am asking for any advice, tips on how to solve this problem.

Are you sure the tape hasn't degraded, sticking to itself?

is it possible? How to check it, how to fix it? Have you had this type of problem in the past?

You need to open the tape clamshell, remove the spools, see if you can manually wind. If not, then you know that's the issue. If the spool win fine, then you know the clamshell was bad, and needed to be opened anyway.
