Am moving a conversation from PMs to a post -- easier this way. Quotes followed by my responses.
Always ask tech questions on the forum, not emails or PMs. Thanks.

These are 32", for some reason, they're $100 more than the 37" ones..

Here's another one I found. I remember you said before that Sony is the best TV
Sony 32" KDL32EX400 from Sears- http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click...00000000226677

I'd like to get a 120 HZ tv, but I can't seem to find on here if it's 120hz or 60hz, for some reason they don't seem to of listed that anywhere...
Sony is in a league of its own. The best TVs. Even if most of their other products range from so-so to crap --- they do top TVs.

I'm not all that fond of LG TV sets, not necessarily.
Looking for low cost, this is $399: Vizio E371VA 37" @ http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/...FEdpNo%3D86578
37" Vizio.

If I remember correctly, I think i said last night that from side to side its 30" ...I'm not sure that Vizio would fit in it? The TV I have now is a sony from 2003 or so. It's still a bigger tv, from before they started going with the slim ones. It's enclosed in a case I guess, and the speakers are on the sides...the speakers measure about 4" then the screen is 20" across (left to right) and 25" top corner to bottom corner. There's about 2" or so of space between the edge of the TV and the inside of the entertainment center. I'd love to get the one you just sent me, but I'm afraid it won't fit in the entertainment center.. And sure, I'd be more than happy to buy from a site that you're partners with. Just send me the link or tell me how to get there and I'll do that for sure. If you can sneak a few more mins tonight and think you find a good one, please let me know, I really would like to place an order tongiht if possible so it gets sent tomorrow.
What is the size of the space you have for a TV, measuring width and height?
Forget diagonal.
Forget the size of the case.
I need to know the space.

I think I can fit that tv from top to bottom, but side to side worries me. That tv looks awesome, and it;ll ship today, if i order it within the next 25 mins..do you think I should get it?
It won't fit. 35.4" wide x 24.3" tall. I'll see what else there is.
I do see some great 60" sets! You could always buy another TV stand.

How about a 60" for $650 ?
Tigerdirect has this -- Mitsubishi WD60738 60" -- http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/...dpNo%3D6529573
Too much?
Too big?
Thought I'd mention that deal to you.
It's an awesome TV. Super, super, super nice.
It was the 2nd choice to my own Sony.

I'd love that 37" in but I'll probably have to settle for 32", huh? If you think Sony is the best, I'd love to get one of those if you can find any.
Vizio 32" E320VA from Tigerdirect: http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/...26CatId%3D3649
Vizio 720p refurb, $270 + ~$25 shipping
Though not "the best", it's not bad, and it's a well liked model.
I think your space is too small for the fancier sets, but that's probably better for your wallet anyway. $300 is a good deal.

At that size, you can't discern 720 from 1080, for TV/DVD/Blu-ray content. It's hard enough to see that even on a set 2x that size. You'd basically just be pissing away money. The ONLY exception is if you're using it for a computer monitor. Are you?

I know you like Sony the best, do you think that'd be the best one that we've looked at so far, or do you think that the Vizio ones might be better? I always heard that smaller TVs get better pic quality than bigger ones. Even though it's smaller than 37, do you think it might actually end up being better?
Better? Eh.... it's really nothing more than being too small to see noise or distortions. In some ways, I guess that could be considered "better".
Vizio "better" than Sony? No. Almost as good? Possibly.

Ugh, this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. lol
120hz is worth it -- motion is more fluid on an LCD or LcoS/SXRD type set.

Sony 32" BRAVIA EX 500 from Amazon- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B0035ER1HS

I don't know, if you don't think this is a good buy for me, then I don't think I'll be able to get a Sony, I've been looking around a lot the last few hrs, but this one is really the only one that I can find..
Here's another Sony 32" from Sears-
It says there's 1 left at the store in my city. It doesn't say if it's 120hz or 60hz though
If it doesn't explicitly state "120hz" then the smart thing to do is that assume it doesn't. You can, however, further research the specs at the official Sony site -- not some random site online.

I know we never mentioned this model, but it's 35 mins from me, so I could go get it..what do you think?
Philips 32" from Target: http://www.target.com/Philips-Class-.../dp/B001RPOCD8
finding these things are harder and harder. I need a new tv by Sunday...I have to have it by then, so I have to either pick one up, and I just went to wal mart and sears, the only 2 places in my town that sells those and I didn't really find anything so I need to order something online today. This one and the others I sent you earlier are really the only ones that I found

Ok..I think I've narrowed it down to two.
I'm leaning to this one, it's more expensive but it's 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio

Vizio 32" XVT323SV from Amazon- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B003GDFJUO

This one is 150,000 to 1, so I assume the above one is better..
LG 32LD550 32" from Amazon- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B0039RRCFM

Which one would you suggest?
"Contrast ratio" doesn't really mean anything. There's no standard for measuring a contrast ratio, and taken alone, the numbers are meaningless marketing mumbo jumbo. In this specific example, Vizio wants you to think the higher number is "better" simply because it's higher. And that's not necessarily the case. Never buy on numbers alone. Contrast ratio is an abused measurement like megapixels (a near-meaningless measurement for selling cameras to unknowing consumers).

I do have a little update, the LG from TigerDirect is now sold out, it's the 2nd link I sent you in my last PM.
So...really I think the best one that I can find for what I want is this one...

Vizio 32" XVT323SV from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B003GDFJUO
What do you think about it?

Or this one from Target since I can go pick it up...but I think the above one is better
http://www.target.com/Philips-Class-...k&frombrowse=1
I need to put an order in basically now to ensure I'll have it by Sunday, if I get the Vizio, so let me know your opinion. Thanks!

I read thru all of the reviews just now on the Vizio, and pretty much all were good, there was a few bad, I just a few ppl said the pic was kinda dull and I guess the vizio logo on the tv lights up or something when it's on? I know I'm being picky but I think that would annoy me lol..
ugh, i have to put an order in today, i have no choice, so I dont know what to do, and Im quickly running out of time, it's already 3pm
Sure, go for the Vizio: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B003GDFJUO
Don't see anything bad about it.

I dont think I can get HDTV because I use a digital cable box from Comcast but im not subscribed to any hdtv services. I remember on my brother's hdtv, he wasnt subscribed either but he was still getting hdtv thru the tv remote, but i have to use the cable box they gave me.

To answer that last question, look at getting this player:
Philips DVP3560/F7 DVD Player with 1080p HDMI Upscaling and Multimedia DiVX
$65 + free shipping, from http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B003LWXJ2A

Philips makes excellent players.

And when you get a moment, update us on the new HDTV! How are you liking it?

Thanks for the suggestion on the DVD player, I'll go ahead and get that one. I'm really liking the TV! I'm getting used to the black bars on certain shows. I noticed that some shows have it, while others don't, I settled on keeping the setting on "normal" as you suggested.
I was kinda bummed that ESPN only broadcasts on 720p on my TV, I was looking forward to seeing some shows on there on 1080p but that's alright lol.
But, overall, I'm loving it. I'm really happy with the purchase, I think I got a great deal, it was around $800 and I got it for $550. It didn't fit in my entertainment center by like an inch, but fortunately I was able to rip out the shelf that was blocking it and now it fits perfectly, so luckily everything working out great
