I've not use
Paragon NTFS for Mac:
http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac
But I've come to trust Paragon quite a bit -- all of their backup and migration software is excellent, Mac or Windows.
If I wanted a reliable NTFS system, I'd use that.
Another competitor is this:

Not use that one, either.

is the hack easy to install? & does it work? is it free?

This is the free NTFS-Mounter:

I don't suggest it. I tried it, and it acted quirky. When you don't want your data corrupted, quirky isn't good.
It's free, but that doesn't really matter much to me.

Then you should be fine with Paragon.
