Regarding this subject I use ConvertxtoDVD quite a lot. I have used Verbatim Discs and they are very good. Also I have used Sony Discs and they are very good too. A disc that I almost use all the time now is Asdas' own brand DVD-R or DVD+R I find that I rarely have any problems with them as far as burning goes, and playback quality is excellent.

Verbatim and Sony blank DVDs are usually safe choices.

Verbatim is often Mitsubishi -- MCC03RG20 16x DVD-R, or MCC003 16x DVD+R
Sony is often Ritek-made media with the Fuji oxonol dyes -- RitekF1 DVD-R or RitekF16 DVD+R

What is the media ID on the Asda house-brand discs?
