I am using Media Encorder in Premeire CS3 for the first time. I set it up according to the help files: highlight sequence, open Media Encorder window, setup features for a MPEG2-DVD; however when I click "OK" nothing happens. No error messages or freezes. Unsure what to do.

Save the project.
Reboot.
Wait until Windows and all startups have fully loaded. (Several minutes.)
Open Premiere, try it again.

I've seen oddities with the cache and RAM in Premiere CS3 in the past. Reboot can sometimes fix it.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Perform your suggestion as prescribed. Still getting the same results, no action after clicking the "OK" button.

Problem solved.
If the sequence name contains any of the character that Windows prohibits in filenames, export doesn't start.
Par Adobe web site.

Thanks for sharing your fix. Much appreciated.

I'll admit that I'd have never thought of that on my own! Kind of an odd error.
If you're using to working on Mac OS X or Linux regularly, I can see how this might happen.

What illegal character(s) was causing it?

I was using dates in the sequence name, hence the culprit was the notorious backslash.
