I see AviDemux is recommended on this site as a good free encoder for home purposes (even there is a guide published on it) but not HcEnc.

On Videohelp.com, HcEnc is regarded very highly as a free alternative to expensive encoders.

I have not seen admin, kpmedia, lordsmurf recommending HcEnc to anyone here.

Any specific reason?

Is AviDemux better than HcEnc? I am only talking about free encoders for home use.

regards

I can look at it again, but I wasn't impressed last time. (Forget why, however.)
Busy with other things right now.
