Lossless video joiner that preserves Chapter Marks?

I just used the full Machete 4.2 application to join 4 .mp4 files together,
and it did a fine and fast job --

EXCEPT that it did not preserve the Chapter Marks that were already present in each file --
as viewed in the latest MPC-HC.

Is there an app that WILL preserve Chapter Marks whilst joining?
Or is this NOT possible within this type of operation?

Of course - each of these files have all the same AV data, codec type, etc.

I thought I'd ask before going on to w/ others -
but as far as Lossless goes, I have AviSynth, Free Video Editor, and Smart Cutter.

edit: YES ! = MKVToolnix and its gui frontend mmg.exe BRAVO !!!

Press the <Add> button, obviously, to ADD the 1st file,
then press the <APPEND> button to APPEND additional files --

all the while maintaining the Chapter Markers from those individual files.

Because I was in a stupid hurry & didn't RTFM, I pressed ADD - ADD - ADD - ADD,
and as a result, as explained in TFM, the video plays in parallel, not in sequence.

What this results in, is that Chapter 1 loops over and over again,
and doesn't allow going anywhere else in the video -- either by the mouse OR keyboard.

So it looks like I'm gonna take the plunge and go MKV into the future --
it seems to be just Functionally w/ Options -- that much more ahead of .mp4.

Since the AV material I work with in this fashion is generally only viewed by me,
either on my computer, or on a TV/Monitor connected to it,
then I hope I have a "future-proof" solution -- if there are pitfalls ahead,
then I welcome any feedbacks, Thanks

Avisynth outputs lossless decoded AVI. Lossless video doesn't have chapter marks and must be re-encoded. I had to laugh out loud when I sw this at the "Free Video Editor" website in big black letters: "The world's first H.264 AVCHD MPEG2 frame accurate cutter without re-encoding!" -- which is pure hype and isn't true. There are some mp4 editors listed here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tools...y=Name&hits=50. Which of them will preserve chapter marks I don't know, other readers might be able to help on that. Most full-fledged smart-rendering editors that I know about aren't free. Mchete4 doesn't come with high ratings from users.
