Spotted this at the local Microcenter. Seems that the AZO dye discs are now a completely separate line. The second and last spindles are NOT AZO dye media, there are no markings indicating such and they lack the lifetime guarantee of the AZO media, plus they come in a basic spindle, not in a cake box. Don't rely on the packing design anymore, it has to specifically say "AZO DVD+R" or "AZO DVD-R" on the label. For those wondering, all the media pictured was made in Taiwan.

Interestingly their website has not been updated yet to make the distinction for DVD-R. I've seen they do distinguish with some DVD+R.

I have the same issue here.
I've purchased a Verbatim 43815 cakebox item (thinking they were 43550) which is not registered in any of the Verbatim official web sites:

It's a #43815 cakebox of 50 discs, label reads "DataLife" , there is no AZO badge and it's manufactured in China.
Verbatim EU has replied to my email saying that some products are made for specific markets only and would not shown on the Verbatim website.
I asked what specific market is targetted with 43815 and they did not reply to my email.

I'm still not sure that this cakebox is a genuine product.

The store I purchased them is hepsiburada.com
http://www.hepsiburada.com/liste/ver...36&SKU=BS51771

Code:
43815 Verbatim DVD+R 4.7GB 16X Cakebox 50 DataLife Contains;

Yeah, the "made in __" is still one of the most important aspects on DVD-R/+R/-RW/+RW packages. If it looks odds -- China, yuck! -- then something may be wrong.

CMC media is terrible.

Ive been hearing grumblings about this since last fall. I've added it to the blank DVD guides, but it's not done yet, (It's still a mess right now. I'm working on it. It's a huge update.)
