These units are not in the list of recommended VCRs. Is there soomething wrong with them? I have found an offer and I was wondering if I should get one

The Philips VR-1100 and VR-1600 are both JVC clones, and should be fine. It needs to be added to the list, though I thought it was already there. It's been getting worked on recently to add more models, and to better organize the thread.

Yep, that omission has been addressed. It's listed now.

I have a similar vcr the Philips vr1500
Is good?
I have tried some vhsrips
the first really bad with on some scenes the frames becomming totally red!
the second is good..but a lot of framed skipped, and result is bad on some scene is impossible to hear the dialogues..like video was cutted with some editing program.
the third..ok but sometimes a strange "wave" appear on top of screen.
Are my vhs all bad or is a defective vcr?
