Hello,

I extracted from a DVD a interlaced m2v file with PgcDemux and once I edited and saved AVI with Virtualdub I endend with a progressive AVI file.

Is that normal?

Thanks

yes

PGCDemux writes yet
video
Audio and SUBPIC in separate streams

Why You take VDub, you want "a" stream in AVI?
------------------------

Do I cut the mpeg2 stream
I put video m2v + Audio AC3 [or mpeg1 Layer2] in Womble.
At the end there is a new mpeg2 stream .....without new encoding

I use this tutorial to correct audio and video from poor homemade quality DVD.

Thanks for the answer I will edit my video in premiere pro where I know I can keep the video interlaced.

AviDemux and VDub I put not one for editing mpeg. 2
mpeg2 cut with Womble or xilisoft video cutter 2 ... without re-encoding.

"Premiere Pro"
yes why not, as is but all re-encoded
I have Adobe CS6
When used to mpeg2 filter then must always be re-encoded.

The instructions in the link is incorrect.
VDub can output to AVI from mpeg2 streams
AviDemux 2.6.11 still can not encode MPEG2 by interlaced
