Hello!

I have a Panasonic NV-8420, and it doesn't display any color on playback. Does anybody know what could be causing this to happen?

Thanks!

Wiring, connections, and NTSC/PAL/SECAM are often to blame for B&W signals.

In addition to that, do you think it's possible that it's a bad capacitor?

I did some testing.

When previewing an image, before hitting record, it sometimes gets color back for a bit. I was playing images through a HDMI-RCA converter using signal from my computer. Using the PAL and NTSC switch proved fruitless, although the signal was a bit cleaner looking on the PAL setting. As I changed images, sometimes the VCR would get its color back, and then, switching to another image it would lose it. RF output also gives the same result.

Playing a tape I recorded on the unit gives all B&W, even on moments where it displayed color during the recording monitoring.
