I have Sony and Panasonic camcorders which record in 1080i resolution and result in mts, M2TS files (AVCHD).

The issue I have is, the camcorders create a separate mts or M2TS file each time I press RECORD , PAUSE buttons. While playing them on computer, I am having to play each file separately.

I need a solution to losslessly join all related files so that playing them is easy. Freeware is preferred.

Thank you.

TMPGEnc Smart Renderer will probably do it. Download a trial and see. I use that program all the time for MP4/MKV hobby work, including re-syncing audio. I've also merged files from Youtube.

An M2TS AVC file should be no different.

Import each file, and you'll see the order it will be in when "rendered" (FYI: wrong use of the jargon term, shame on them).

The important thing is to no re-encode the videos. And you'll also see that, both when important ("smart" mode), as well as on the final tab there's preview button to verify if/where re-encoding will happen.

Thank you. I will try the trial version of TNPGEnc.

The free ones (such as TsMuxer...etc) are no good?

I'm fairly certain the free Sony software (Playmemories) can join the files without re-encoding and works pretty well as a video organizer.

Yes, I used PlayMemoriesHome earlier. But I have lost the Sony Camcorder and the software needs the camcorder to be connected for verification in order to work.

Not really used it much. I have TMPGEnc SR for several reasons.

Update: Now bought TMPGEnc SmartRenderer and I am pretty happy with the results. This seems to be the only tool that can do this task without issues. Thank you.
