As in title, 4:3 4K footage from Hero6 cannot be open in SOny Vegaas Pro 13, any ideas?

Looks like the GoPro 6 records with High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) – also known as H.265.
Sony Vegas 13 doesn't support H.265.

Sony - always making good stuff with a fatal flaw...

Any chance to install an extension plug-in, or something similar that would spare me the conversion and reencoding the material prior to editing?
