Tmpenc mastering works not reading videos

I added an avi and it says "no video data present", just audio.

I have added avi previously without a problem for re encoding.

The only difference is that I had split the avi using a program cos it was too big to transfer between computers. No re-encoding.

The split files are playable in vlc. Virtualdub happily plays it as well.

Do I understand correctly that you split one large file into two smaller files?
Does it fail on both files, or just one?
How did you split the files?

Hi, yes. I split one larger file into two smaller ones. It fails on both files.

I split it using idoo video editor software.

Like I say I can play in other programs. Works in videoredo as well.

Do I understand that other programs on the same computer as TMPGEnc can play the files normally?
Which release of TMPGEnc?

Does MediaInfo show the same information (except duration) for the video portion of the split and not-split files?

That is correct.

Mastering works 5. Although I tried a demo of the latest TMGENC author and that doesn't like it either.

Looks same info.

Wondering if its a setting or a codec priority issue

Just saying that your video is "AVI" doesn't say much. AVI is a container, not a format. It can contain many different kinds of encodes. What dpalomaki requested was a readout from the free MediaInfoXP utility. It's a small stand-alone program that needs no installer and works in all versions of Windows. Download it to your PC from this link: https://www.videohelp.com/download/M...2018-04-13.zip. Unzip it and place the .exe on your desktop. Use it to open a video file, then select the "text" view. It will show a window of text-formatted info about your videos. You can copy the text directly to your clipboard and paste it into a forum post like plain text, or you can save the data as a text file and upload it here.

Otherwise there's really nothing anyone can do.

Except for duration/file size, is the information for the original and split files the same?

Is the data for the original or split file?
Does TMPGEnc open the original file OK?
