Hi everybody,
it's my first post in this very informative forum. I'm an italian A/V enthusiast and I'm collecting (
almost) all I need to capture old VHS decently.

I have a JVC HR-S7700 and an Ati 128 AIW (non PRO) with all the accessories.

The card is AGP 2x (3.3v) and I have problems to find a good AGP 2X compatible motherboard at a reasonable cost.

I've found an ATI AIW 9000 (AGP 4x) without accessories. I would like to know if the Ati 128 input adapter would work on the 9000.

Thanks for your support

The pre-Radeon 128 / 128 Pro cards have slightly different mini DIN on the input cables, so no, not interchangeable. All of the Radeons, however, have the same purple/domino input cables. The Radeon are actually very easy to find, it's the 128 and 128 Pro that are much harder to locate.

The purple input block is under $10 on eBay (USA).

A good AGP 2x/4x board should be easy to find, as almost all AGP boards accept 2x AGP.

I have the AIW 7500 Radeon AGP and the AIW 9600XT Radeon AGP. They have different input cables and different monitor connections. Neither set would fit the 9200.

Thank you for the answers.
AFAIK only Pentium 3 and athlon xp motherboards have universal agp or agp 2x. Are these architectures enough for vhs capture?
I think that US market is a bit different than European one at least on eBay. I’ve found a aiw 128 pci without accessories for 20 euros (auction) that may can solve my problem.
