Hi,
I am wondering where I can get hold of a power inverter module for the Sony SVO-5800P SVHS video recorder.
getting a new one is near impossible due to the age of the machine, so a second hand one from an old machine would be perfect.
As I am in Australia a 220-240 volt unit would be preferable but a 115 volt one would do as I will get a transformer.
My machine has the following details:

1-413-998-11
ZSSP371HA
Serial Number 11807
nichicon JAPAN

Hi, I'm now on these forums, just found this thread, as I am looking for one of these modules for the sony svp 5600p. Uk Version preferably. I can't find any service data on it anywhere. Mine has been intermittent for a while, so I replaced all the capacitors (and checked they were all correct and the right polarity) now it doesn't work at all, just makes the head drum spin.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, bought service manual. Sadly, the power inverter module isn't part of it, but still good to have the manual for the main vtr.

Thanks to the manual I was able to work out what voltages were missing from the Power Module's output, and traced them back to two dead protection diodes!

Please share the manual by uploading it to the forum.

Most of those "manual sites" are scams that require $$$ to download manuals that DO NOT belong to them, and were intended to be free by the manufacturers. We should not be rewarding these people for their unethical tactics. You'd be doing a good thing by attaching it to a forum post here.

Hi
I know this thread is old but I have just repaired a power supply for a 5800P with the same fault.. check ICP-N16 and ICP-N20 on the PS board, they look like a T092 series transistor with two legs, they are a fuse and if they go open you lose a rail or two, i just used a 1A surface mount fuse.. now to find out why there is no playback video..

Hope that helps
