Yeah I know I have had my fair share of buying dud units off the bay but it's all about chance, this will be my 3rd one of these that I have had problems with 1st 2 had major issues, but this one which has not been used in years is squealing.

I asked the seller if I could open it up so I could have a look inside, had no picture at 1st the only thing I have done with it for now was clean the pinch roller it was filthy and the head drum. Just have a look at this video doesn't sound nice at all.

The thing is it doesn't do it all the time, though the sound keeps going as well now.

It sounds like a vibrating bearing perhaps due to lack of lubricant, wear.

It sounds like a bearing hum not squealing, Those are pressed in and I'm afraid that you will have to replace the entire head drum assembly. If the other units have good drums use parts from the deck with bad drum to fix one of the other two decks with good drums.

My thoughts were the drum head, mainly because when you tilt the machine which will take some pressure off it stops squeaking, put it down flat again and it's back straight away.

The other machines were sent back with similar issues, I was gutted with one of them it looked like it had never been used from the outside but again a problem with the drum head (topic is on this forum) I told that seller if they got it repaired I would buy it back off them.
