I have a JVC SR-VS10 and it is saying "Video Calibration" periodically over the video as I transfer it over. I want it to stop saying that but don't know how to do that. Also, does anyone have the manual for this VCR?

The manual is attached below.

Doing some research, using your remote and turning off "overlay/superimpose" should do the trick (props to lordsmurf for pointing this out).

That's it. Disable OVERLAY (or SUPERIMPOSE) in the menus. Then all on-screen text/graphics disappear.

Some other JVC machines have OSD ON/OFF function in case someone comes by this thread and wonders where is the function.

I have a JVC. This is what the setting looks like in the menu. Hit the menu button on the remote, then select Mode Set, hit the ok button on the remote, then select Superimpose, hit the OK button to change it to Off, then hit the menu button again.

I also screenshot the page from the manual as well.
